Gallows Corner flyover works
We are planning to renew and strengthen the ageing Gallows Corner Flyover.
For more details see the Gallows Corner project page.
Roads will be very busy and there will be significant traffic queuing and delays to journeys during works.
- From Sunday 16 March until June 2025: there will be a series of lane closures on some arms of Gallows Corner roundabout. All routes will remain open including the flyover, with some temporary walking route diversions. There will also be some overnight closures
- From June until September 2025: there will be a full closure of Gallows Corner junction, both roundabout and flyover, to all traffic except emergency services and buses. There will be local traffic diversion routes and temporary walking route diversions
- From September a final phase of mostly night-time works will follow to reinstate the road surface, road markings and street furniture. Further details on these works will be available closer to the time

There will be a series of temporary lane restrictions on on the A127 Southend Arterial Road and A12 Eastern Avenue to/from Gallows Corner roundabout. These will reduce road widths from 2 lanes down to one.

- Expect traffic queues and long delays
- There is likely to be less disruption before 07:30 and after 19:00
